3CDP (Customer, Client Centric Data Platform) is a department of around 250 people, responsible for development and Service Management of multiple technology services used by Global Operations across all product categories and Business Units. Main Function Project Manager role within the 3CDP team who are responsible for client data within the bank on a cross-asset basis. The team implement strategic change, future architectural planning, development and maintenance of strategic repositories which are both in-house and vendor supplied. The repositories source, validate and distribute reference data to all systems in the firm. The area is undergoing significant change with a number of high profile project initiatives. This role requires a detailed, methodical, forward thinking individual with proven project management experience in an IT-project environment together with excellent stakeholder communication skills. Main Duties Project and programme management of projects within the 3CDP team, reporting to the head of 3CDP technology. Project planning and management activities from project inception to project closure. Creation of and maintenance of project documentation and project plan, to team standards, and within current in-house project methodology. Management of the assigned business analyst, development and testing teams throughout the project. Specifically: - Project Feasibility and Inception • Liaise with business teams to define & document project Terms of Reference and PID and draft project plan • Engage with internal or external stakeholder or 3rd party vendors to determine feasibility of project to be undertaken and provide draft scope documents plans and high level estimates • Liaise with internal finance teams to set up and manage cross-business unit charging and 3rd party vendor charging • Define project resource requirements and update Ref Data team resource plans accordingly Managing Projects • Create and maintain full project plan for every project • Produce high level and detailed project estimates • Liaise with the development team to gather estimates for development in order to include into the project plan • Produce draft and detailed project plans • Define and manage project milestones Resource Management • Day to day management of the project resources allocated to the project • Support the management of project work streams to lead, guide and assist other team members, ensure quality and timeliness of delivery and assist in use and enhancement of team methodologies • Manage resources across global locations Project Reporting • Project manage all projects including reporting to senior stakeholders, milestone tracking, RAG status reporting and continued project reporting General • Manage multiple, personal work streams in parallel and report progress to IT project manager • Ensure all work meets prescribed standards in design and quality • Document all work and communications to a high professional standard • Sourcing of Best Practice from industry and other Barclays areas. Establishing best practice into the 3CDP Project and programme delivery teams • Supporting new engagement activities Person Requirements Experience Required • Proven project management experience for medium to large sized projects • Proven man management experience for project teams • Experience of providing leadership and direction to the team Experience Preferred • Knowledge of trade lifecycle and product types, mainly bonds, equities and derivatives • Knowledge of Trade Settlements and Settlement Instructions • Knowledge of client data and processes such as KYC (know-your-client). • Knowledge of SSI’s – Standard Settlement Instructions Aptitude Required • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Good negotiation skills • Proven ability to work in a global team environment. Users based in UK, US and AP. • Very well organised - able to manage multiple workstreams effectively. • Analytical & methodical approach to problem solving • Effective at communicating clearly via e-mails, telephone & in meetings. • Ability to effectively plan & prioritise to set & meet deadlines • Must be able to work effectively either independently & as a team member • Able to work the long hours when required to deliver a project on time • A "can do" attitude – willingness to accept challenges & solve problems • Ability to identify, appropriately escalate issues & risks & consider solutions • Friendly & calm / relaxed attitude Skills Required • MS Excel/Word/Powerpoint/Project – Intermediate • Visio – Intermediate For the position apply to: cvLT@strategicstaff.com Only selected candidates will be contacted.
