Darbo pobūdis:
This role will provide 2nd / 3rd Line Application Support & Enhancement services to a number of business critical and regulatory applications ; • Problem Record/Incident Management • Design, Develop and Implement CRs from Business • Quality Assurance for all the changes delivered to business • Prompt response to meet the business needs for changes • Effective liaison with BIIS peers & clients • Provision of out of office hours support to ensure smooth functioning of the application, as needed • To be fully proficient in required technical skills mandated by BIIS technology strategy – SAS • To understand the new/changed applications coming into Support to a detailed level (typically by knowledge transfer exercise with the Project Team) before the Project Team leave. Understand how it “does what it does”. • Ability to apply Operational Acceptance Criteria, if required, to new or changed applications coming in to Service & highlight areas of non-adherence. • Provide the support for any new service accepted by Integration Platform Service Management and Support • To provide input to estimates for request to change. • Have ownership of small change, and input to any large change perhaps involving 3rd party suppliers. Key Accountabilities Application Support (70%) • Has strong operational knowledge of the service desk and incident systems • Monitor operational jobs on a daily basis, managing incidents when errors or exceptions occur • Work towards providing high availability of the systems, reduce Mean Time to Recover and improve Mean Time Between Failures • Pro-actively review systems to fix incidents before they become service affecting or to improve productivity/performance • Provide ongoing 2nd / 3rd line application support in the resolution of client queries/incidents/problems on a day-to-day basis. Own the resolution of incidents within the agreed Service Levels • Manage and successfully implement service orders raised by clients or small change • Working with GTIS Release management to ensure that ETL/SAS Support Changes are within Aggregated Change Schedule. • To support installation and maintenance of all SAS products including Base SAS, Enterprise Guide, Information Map Studio, Olap cube Studio, Management Console, Information Delivery portal etc. • To have the technical understanding across the Barclays Analytics and Business landscape to support effective and efficient decision making within the SAS Platform strategy. • Build and manage effective relationships with GTIS monitoring teams and vendor companies to ensure best use of monitoring services are in place. Application Enhancement - Small Change (20%) • Creating and amending programs in accordance with the design following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards. • Planning, designing and conducting tests of programs, correcting errors and re-testing to deliver an error-free product. • Proposing options to meet business area requirements and prepare cost/benefit for the business area to evaluate. • Reacting quickly and as necessary to live software errors and service problems to limit downtime and resolve the problem during project handover. • Documenting all work in accordance with agreed standards and with re-use in mind. • Conducting reviews of supplied specifications, with others as necessary. • Taking part in reviews of own work and leading reviews of colleagues’ work. • Completing assignment work to budget, time and quality requirements. This includes a combination of performing operational support tasks to agreed service standards and supporting enhancements or other technical projects. • Establishing and maintaining agreed standards applicable to the work undertaken and ensuring these, and other mandatory standards and architectures, are adhered to. • Providing expert advice in some or all aspects of the programming methods, tools and/or standards used in the Application Delivery organisation. Capability Growth (5%) • Building and maintaining an expert understanding of the various stages of software development, enhancements, and support • Providing guidance and assistance to colleagues • Interfacing with other teams, sharing technical knowledge and expertise and resolving issues as necessary. Acting as a point of reference for both internal and external technical queries. • Assisting with the implementation of operational objectives for relevant team/programme. • Supporting the implementation of strategy and policy issues by involvement in development/change and/or advice to other technical areas and making recommendations to improve procedures and working practices. Transformation (5%) • Proposing areas for improvement within own technical sphere to help achieve the Integration Platform Goals • Reviewing and recommending process improvements, helping to implement where possible • Building collaborative relationships within and outside Integration Platform to promote best practice Person Specification The Candidate Should: • Have awareness of ITIL concepts, experience of Service-Now or equivalent incident/problem/change management tool. • Have strong technical domain knowledge • Have good understanding of data & data integrity concepts • Have good analytical investigation techniques • Have good organisational skills • Have good written & oral communication skills • Have ability to work under own initiative • Have good business knowledge • Have exposure to SAS support lead role with hands on experience with the toolset. • Have a broad understanding and usage of a variety of SAS Software toolsets. • Have experience of implementing change within a technical run or projects area. • Be flexible and able to organize workload. • Adaptable and have a personality that is able to work with different types of technicians so as to be able to allocate their tasks and monitor them for completion. • Be prepared to take up training where necessary in the completion of their job • Be available to work certain requested and reasonable hours over and above their normal work times to ensure completion of certain critical projects. Essential Technical Skills: • Thorough understanding of the system and SAS product end to end. Manage change of new systems or users into the business • Design platform solutions - i.e. new product or new solutions within platform and implement the SAS design. Be commercially aware of what’s on the market, how we are pushing it forward, how we are helping users and lastly, look at incidents or a group and understand design flaws. • Experience of SAS EBI (ideally minimum v9.2) • Awareness of Oracle / Teradata / other database • Awareness of Unix/linux and Mainframe platforms • Understanding of scheduling tool (CA Scheduler / TWS) for Batch Schedules and jobs • Task Management experience • Experience of Quality Assurance checking of other peoples work • Banking Domain knowledge For the position apply to: Only selected candidates will be contacted.
